2.1 Registration and Login Information

To create a Cozyla ID, we collect your email address and password. You can also choose to provide additional profile information, such as a username, member role, gender, or avatar; if you do not, default settings will apply.

To comply with child protection regulations, we may also ask for your country of residence and age. Once your Cozyla ID is created, you can also add information about other family members.

2.2 Information You Provide When Using the Service

  • a. Photographs: We may collect photos and videos that you actively upload while using the Service. Photo and video content is stored with our secure cloud hosting provider, and we use robust, modern security procedures to protect your privacy. Photos and videos are sent to your Cozyla device via an encrypted protocol and are not accessible to any other party. We will never share or sell your content.

  • b. Location: To provide certain services, we may collect your location data (e.g., city) to display local temperature and forecasts within the weather feature.

  • c. Meal Information: When you use the Meal feature and related functions such as the shopping list on your Cozyla device, we may collect information you voluntarily provide, including dietary preferences, food allergies, recipes, and ingredients.

  • d. Calendar Information: When using the Calendar feature, we collect the details you enter, including event titles, descriptions, participating family members, whether the event is all-day or recurring, and whether you set a reminder.

  • e. Tasks Information: When you use the Task feature (routines, chores, to-dos, and rewards), we collect the information you enter for each task—such as title, assigned individuals, repeat and recurrence settings, start/end dates, due date, reminders, and detail-specific rewards (points and redemption options). You can check your order status on our website by entering your order number along with your email address or phone number, or simply by providing your tracking number.

If you choose to refer Cozyla to others through our referral program, we may collect your first name to generate a unique referral code and track the status of your referral rewards.

2.5 Log Data and Analytics

Whenever you use our Services, in the event of an error or for performance monitoring, we may collect diagnostic and usage data. This data may include information such as your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app, websites, and devices when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics. You may also provide us with additional calendar details, such as work, family, or home information, and a description of the issue.

We also have access to analytics and logging data about when and how the Services were used. When you view content provided by us, we automatically collect information about your app, websites, and device computer hardware and software. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, Internet service provider (ISP), the files viewed on our site, operating system, access time, etc. This information is used by Cozyla to log general statistics regarding the Services and improve our user experience.

2.6 Information from Third Parties

We do not obtain personal data from third-party sources unless you link external applications such as calendars (e.g., Google, Apple, Outlook, CalDAV) or contact services (e.g., Google People, Apple CardDAV) with Cozyla. In such cases, we may collect your third-party account name, authorization tokens or passwords, server address, calendar names, associated calendar events, and certain contact information from your address book, including contact names and any birthdays you have stored. This information may be synchronized with our calendar service and displayed as calendar events to provide the relevant functionality.

3. Data Sharing

Except as described in this Privacy Policy, we will not share personal data we collect through the Service with third parties without your consent. We never sell your personal data to third parties.

We may share information with third parties in the following circumstances:

  • Third-Party Providers and Partners: We engage a variety of trusted third-party providers and partners to support the operation and provision of our Services. These include:

    • Shipping and Payment Providers: We use an external shipping company to fulfill orders and a credit card processing company to bill users for our Services. We share order data such as name, shipping address, and billing address with our shipping company. However, we do not collect credit card or payment information as payments are processed directly through our payment providers, and we do not assume responsibility for credit card or payment information collected by parties we partner with to fulfill our Services.

    • Analytics Service Providers: These collect data on how users interact with our Services (e.g., pages visited, features used, time spent) to help us improve performance and user experience.

    • Video hosting providers (e.g., YouTube): These collect information related to your video interactions, including search queries, viewing history, and buffering activity, in accordance with their own privacy policies.

    • Recipe & dietary service providers: These may collect data related to your selected recipes, ingredients, dietary preferences, and allergy information to personalize content and recommendations.

    • Cloud service providers: These securely store and manage user data and content necessary for the operation of our services.

    • AI service providers: These process user-generated inputs (such as text, images, voice messages, or other content) to enable intelligent features like image recognition, AI-powered conversations, or smart scheduling.

    • Weather service providers: These may collect limited location data (e.g., city) to support weather display and related personalized features.

These companies do not retain personal information for secondary purposes beyond fulfilling your order and do not share, store, or use it otherwise.

  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if we are legally required to do so, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with applicable laws, protect our property, prevent fraud, or in response to a court order, judicial or other government subpoena or warrant, or to otherwise cooperate with law enforcement or other government agencies. This may include sharing information with other companies, attorneys, agents, or government agencies.

  • Corporate Transactions: If Cozyla (or our assets) are acquired by another company, whether through merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or otherwise, that company would receive all information gathered by Cozyla on the Service. In this event, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our website, devices, or mobile applications of any change in ownership, uses of your personal information, and choices you may have regarding your personal information.

4. Security

We value your trust in providing us your personal information, and we employ a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect the privacy, accuracy, and reliability of your personal data and to safeguard it from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. The security measures we implement are appropriate and industry-standard. Despite our efforts, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We do our best to ensure that access to personal information is granted on a "need-to-know" basis for employees, consultants, and third-party vendors who require the information to perform a specific task. The computers and servers on which we store personal information are kept in a secure and controlled environment, protected from unauthorized use or disclosure.

5. Links to Other Sites

Our Services may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are primarily designed for use by adults, including parents and guardians. When using the Services, adult users may create family accounts and add profiles for family members, including children under 13 (or the age of consent as per applicable data protection laws). Children are not permitted to create their own accounts independently.

If a child's profile is created under a family account, we may process limited personal data about the child – such as name, gender, age, or activity information – only to the extent necessary to provide the requested features or services. Such information is only accessible to the parent or guardian and other authorized members of the same family account.

We do not collect, use, or share any personal information from a child without obtaining verifiable parental consent. If a family member's profile is identified as that of a child, we will first verify the user's age and display a clear notice that parental consent is required before the child can use the Services.

A parent or guardian may contact us as outlined in the "Contact Us" section below to request review, deletion, and/or restrict the further collection, use, or disclosure of the personal information associated with their child.

7. Data Subject Rights

We process your personal information in accordance with applicable personal data laws and principles, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), where applicable.

An individual's rights under this Privacy Policy may be mandated by the jurisdiction that governs the individual. These rights generally include the right to access, rectify, update, or request deletion of the personal data we hold about you; the right to restrict or object to certain types of processing; the right to withdraw consent if processing is based on consent; the right to data portability; and, where applicable, the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. However, due to differences in governing jurisdictions, there may be differences in the way we process your personal data. This means that the rights discussed in this Privacy Policy may not apply to every individual’s personal data as it will be subject to your jurisdiction. In any case, you will always have the right to know what personal data we hold and to request that it be corrected if there is an error or that it be updated or deleted.

You may view, update, correct, or delete your personal information and preferences at any time by contacting us at help@cozyla.com. Please note that while any changes you make will be reflected in active user databases instantly or within a reasonable period of time, we may retain all information you submit for backups, archiving, prevention of fraud and abuse, analytics, satisfaction of legal obligations, or where we otherwise reasonably believe that we have a legitimate reason to do so.

8. Information Retention

We retain your information for as long as we need it to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, as long as an account is active, as described in this Privacy Policy or as needed to provide you with the Services. This is also the case for anyone that we share your information with and who carries out services on our behalf. When we no longer have a business need to process your personal information and no longer need to retain it to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations, we will either remove it permanently from our systems or depersonalize it so that we can no longer identify you.

9. International Transfer of Personal Data

Our servers are located in the United States. Due to the international nature of our business, your personal information may also be accessed by our affiliates or transferred to third-party providers and business partners in connection with the purposes outlined in this policy, such as in China and Japan. For this reason, we transfer personal information to other jurisdictions that may have different laws and data protection compliance requirements to those in the jurisdiction in which you are located. Where your personal data is processed in another country, it may be subject to access by law enforcement and national security authorities in that jurisdiction.

In the event of international transfers of personal data, where required by applicable law, we will ensure an adequate level of protection for your personal data using various means, including entering into data transfer agreements between our affiliates and third parties, which comply with applicable laws or other lawful approach that allows the lawful transfer of personal data from those countries.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post all changes on this page. These changes are effective immediately, after they are posted. Your continued use of our Websites and our Services after the effective date of such changes will constitute your acceptance of the new policy. If the changes are material, we may provide a more prominent notice or obtain your consent, if required by law.

11. Third-Party Services

We may utilize third-party services such as the YouTube API services, which allows end-users to search and access YouTube videos directly through the API Client. By using these services, certain information may be accessed, collected, or processed through the YouTube API Services. This information includes, for example, your video search history, viewing history, and buffering information.

Third-party services are not owned or controlled by us, and third parties who have been granted access to this information may have their own policies and practices regarding their collection, use, and sharing. Information on the YouTube API may also be found in the Google Privacy Policy (http://www.google.com/policies/privacy). Please review the permissions, privacy settings, and notices for any third-party services, or contact the provider if you have any questions.

  • Log Files: As is true of most websites and mobile applications we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. We use this information to analyze trends, administer the Services, track users’ movements around the Site or Application, gather demographic information about our user base as a whole, and better tailor our Services to our users’ needs.

  • Cookies: Like many online services, we use cookies to collect information. “Cookies” are small pieces of information that a website sends to your computer’s hard drive while you are viewing the website. We may use both session Cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent Cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them) to provide you with a more personal and interactive experience on our Services. This type of information is collected to make the Services more useful to you, to tailor the experience with us to meet your special interests and needs, and to provide targeted advertising.

We use the information we get from these Analytics Companies to improve our Site, Applications, and Services. These Analytics Companies collect the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit the Services, rather than your name or other personally identifiable information. We do not combine the information generated through the use of our Analytics Companies with your Personal Data. Although these Analytics Companies may plant a persistent Cookie on your web browser or mobile device to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit the Services, the Cookie cannot be used by anyone but the Analytics Company that placed the applicable Cookie.
